Penalized

Doug Barron was suspended for one year after testing positive for a performance-enhancing substance. The PGA didn’t released any further details.
Doug Barron1Barron lost his PGA card three years ago and has been playing
in the Nationwide Tour.

Barron said in a statement that “I would like to apologize for any negative perception of the Tour or its players resulting from my suspension”.
The truth is he’s become the first golfer to be penalized for this matter. Never the less it really didn’t seem that the performance-enhancing substance was doing the trick, since this year Barron had only played four times at the Nationwide and once at the PGA. Besides, in 2008 he only won $33,446 dollars after making five cuts in 17 starts.
